Raider Sports Programs
St. Rita competes in the 145-school CYO program of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles and is one of its most successful members. We are part of the powerful East Foothill Conference. The Raiders can claim hundreds of league, tournament, track meet and CYO Championships by their 24 teams in 7 sports.
In the Fall, the boys and girls in grades five through eight may participate in flag football which has reached the CYO Final Four eleven times and the quarterfinals a dozen more times. The girls in the same grades may play volleyball. Golf is a yearlong sport that begins in this season for boys and girls in grades four though eight. Cross-Country is available to all third through eighth graders.
Basketball is the winter sport for both boys and girls in fifth grade and above. Both have fielded extremely successful teams. The boys have reached the final four twice and both boys and girls have reached the quarterfinals a number of times. The girls have also won a North Region CYO Title.
Spring is a busy time with fifth through eighth grade boys playing volleyball and girls playing softball. It is also the time for our most successful program. An average of over 90 third through eighth grade boys and girls run track. The school has won a CYO record 66 Archdiocesan Titles. In the last 25 years, the Raiders have won more titles than all other CYO schools combined. During that span the school is undefeated in total team scoring meets.
The success of the program is due to the experience of the coaches at all levels. Every coach has been in the program for years. Several have even gone through it themselves.
