5th Grade State General Information Storyboards Due: February 8, 2011

Task: Create 5 State Storyboards using the Storyboard template in Pages.

You may choose any 5 states you like. The top information box must include the name of the state, capital, nickname, date made a state and the current population.

The six picture boxes must be of general fast facts about one the five different states you chose. Include a label, the picture and URL. Fast makes may include but are not limited to:

-state flower

-state flag

-state bird

-state map

-famous person from the state

-famous location

-famous event

-invention form the state

-natural resource

-famous landmark

Please create a file labeled with your First Name, Last Name and Storyboards (ex: Rian Feld Storyboards). Inside, put your 5 Pages documents labeled First Name Last Name and the State (ex: Rian Feld Kentucky). You will receive points from Mrs. Griffin in Social Studies and will be graded on preparedness for class, following formatting directions and using your time wisely by Miss Feld.

Early Americans Keynote

Due: Wed. October 26, 2011

Your Task: Create a 10 slide Keynote Presentation on one of the 4 following peoples:

• Cliff Dwellers and Pueblo People of the Desert Southwest
• American Indians in the Pacific Northwest
• Nomadic Nations of the Great Plains
• Woodlands People East of the Mississippi River

Format:

Slide 1—Title Slide (including title, name, date, SLE and a photo)
Slides 2-8—Content Slides (must include at least one photo on each and transitions)

• Where did these people live?
• What were their customs?
• What were their religious beliefs?
• What did they eat?
• How did they get food?
• Were there any important historical figures among these people?
• Are there any legends associated with these people?
• Also include any other interesting information you find that add to your presentation

Slide 9—Conclusion Slide (create a closing for your presentation, not "The End" or "Thanks for Watching)
Slide 10—Bibliography slide (must include the URLs for any pictures or websites you used as well as the title and author of any books you used)

Please make sure your Slideshow is colorful and has a good flow. Please title the file Last Name, 5th, Early Amer (ex: Feld 5th Early Amer). You will receive Computer credit for following the directions and format and for using your time wisely. You will receive Social Studies credit from Mrs. Griffin for the content.
