CYO TRACK CHAMPIONSHIPS WEDNESDAY 5/9

After five and a half hours of running, jumping and throwing in the CYO Prelims, we have learned that 30 of our athletes will compete in the CYO Track Championships. The meet is this Wednesday, May 9, at Serra High School in Gardena. Gates open at 4 pm and the meet begins at 5 pm. All track athletes should wear their track shirts to school on Wednesday in support of the finalists.

Once again, several athletes posted personal records. The prelims included several hundred athletes from over 70 schools. Of the 36 events contested, we have finalists in 24. While we occupy the top spot in only 6 of them, we have athletes positioned high enough to challenge for division trophies.

If you want to see a thrilling track meet, come out to Serra on Wednesday. There is just one heat of every running event and one flight of each field event. The meet lasts between two and two and one half hours and is jam packed with excitement. More information is located on the track page of the website. For a complete listing of all times and distances in the Prelims, go to www.cyousa.org.

Raider Relays Information (Updated 4/21), Raider Relay Entries, and Practice Schedule

Below are directions to Bishop Amat High School and a schedule of events for the track meet. There is a time listed next to the event on the meet entries forms that will also give an approximation of event times. Please be early, this is a massive event involving 2000 - 3000 athletes and spectators. NOTE: Bishop Amat will have a charge to park on their grass field next to the track. This is a fundraiser for them as well as a fund to repair damage to the field caused by parking cars there. This fee has nothing to do with St. Rita. Also below are the entries for the meet as well as the practice schedule for the remainder of the season.
