Aloha!

WELCOME to the 3rd grade at St. Rita!!! I am looking forward to meeting and working with each one of you, so that we can create an exciting 2011-2012 school year. There are several items, which we have to look forward to, such as…

  • More cursive writing
  • Book reports & Research projects
  • Multiplication and Division facts
  • Teamwork
  • Excitement, fun and laughter

We love parent ideas and helpers, so feel free to share any ideas that may be incorporated this year!!! The class introduction powerpoint that will be shown at Back to School Night is attached. Please email questions or bring them for short discussion on 9/13/11. Please note that parents will be notified on a weekly basis of upcoming events, work, etc. through email. In addition, completed student assignments (classwork/homework) are updated (input in system) at least weekly on the Churchwerks/Cornerstone site, so PLEASE ensure that you are checking your child's progress. Parents will also receive a weekly update email to keep the school/home team in close communication. Please check my teacher's blog for weekly updates, news, due dates, etc.

*CLASS GOAL: Teamwork and positive thinking!!!

Meet the Parents~

  • Parents are welcome to share their talents and time with us through our "Meet the Parents" period. I have an information sheet for interested parents to fill out. Upon interest, the parent and I would choose an appropriate time/date for the parent visit. Based upon the hints from the information sheet, the children would then have to guess who would be our guest for the period.  Parents are welcome to spend the time reading to the class, sharing a talent, working on a craft/project, etc. Be creative and we can't wait for your visit!!!
Blessings ~ Ms. Cambonga

Expectations/Classroom Contract

This year will be engaging and fiilled with learning, projects, fun, excitement and so much more!!! Each student can and will learn to be more independent and responsible, both in and out of the classroom setting. Each student is a gift from God and a treasure to have in this third grade classroom. We look forward to working as a team and watching each child blossom in this academic year.

*Please ensure that your child is writing his/her full name, student #, date and SLE of the assignment on EVERY PIECE OF WORK! We would like to be confident that your child is learning responsibility and accountability (name, #, date), along with "mastering" how he/she can be a role-model, SLE student (Christ Centered, Maturing Individual, Intellectual Learner, and Globally Aware). When students are noting the SLE on the assignment, most likely, the child will be able to choose the SLE that he/she feels applies to the work. In some cases, teachers may direct the children as to which SLE to note on the particular assignment.
